- The FSATA designation recognizes SATA members who have demonstrated sustained leadership in transplant anesthesia. Open to active (non-trainee) members with at least 5 years of leadership experience, the credential is granted by committee review and recognized publicly on the SATA website.

The FSATA designation distinguishes members who have shaped transplant anesthesia through clinical, academic, or administrative leadership. It is awarded by SATA's Fellowship Committee after peer review — not purchased, not automatic, and not earned by time served.

Earn Your FSATA Designation.
Fellowship is awarded by peer review to active SATA members who have demonstrated sustained leadership in transplant anesthesia. Eligibility is built on documented experience, supporting endorsements, and meaningful participation in the society's annual program.
Eligibility Requirements.
To qualify for the FSATA designation, candidates must meet all of the following criteria.
- Active SATA membership and an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree
- Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience, plus recent attendance at an Annual SATA National Meeting
- Letter of support, a 500-word personal statement, and current CV
The Application Process.
From submission to recognition, the FSATA designation is awarded through a structured peer-review process led by the SATA Fellowship Committee. Each application is evaluated on its own merits — and successful candidates join a public record of Fellows that reflects the leadership shaping the specialty today.

Three stages move a candidate from application to FSATA standing.
- Submit application materials and pay the $100 application fee
- SATA Fellowship Committee reviews and votes; approved Fellows pay the $150 certification fee
- Maintain active SATA membership to retain FSATA standing
